Inactive nutrient-dense ingredients (in small amounts): Ancient Utah sea salt, Organic Cheddar and/or Organic Parmesan cheeses.
This formula was created by the renowned animal nutritionist and veterinary surgeon, Dr. Ian Billinghurst.
How do I feed it?
Give 1 teaspoon per 10-20 pounds of your dog's weight. Feed less to start if you'd like to get them used to it. Give it once a day or every other day. The key is to give it regularly for long-term benefits.
We recommend you add water to instantly hydrate the freeze-dried ingredients. We recommend just enough water to make a salsa consistency. If you feed raw or canned food, there is usually enough moisture in the food to hydrate it. Mix well and serve.

Where do you source your ingredients?
Great question! We go beyond human-grade. We go beyond "clean".
We are proud to say, our ingredients are sourced from organic, biodynamic or regenerative farmers. Organic is our minimum requirement. We never-ever allow ingredients that have pesticides or herbicides. Even down to the salt we use in our fermentation. It's mined from an ancient seabed in Utah, USA where it’s safe from modern pollutants. It’s pure, unprocessed, and full of trace minerals that give it's one-of-a-kind nutritional benefits.
We get our goat kefir and sheep's cheese from grass-fed goats.
We get to know and visit our producers. We ensure they meet our highest standards for a clean, amazing product that we can put our name on.
Our product is only freeze-dried. Is this important? You bet it is. Freeze drying locks in the raw nutrients and probiotic benefits. Dehydrating or drying does not.
And as for food safety, our product is safer than you eating a salad at a restaurant. Thanks to our two week fermentation process, it naturally works to keeps our product safe from harmful pathogens.
Nothing is too good for our dog customers. Our ingredients are everything to us.
We will continue to build amazing relationships with the finest farmers and ranchers on behalf of our customers. We share those visits in our email newsletter. Sign up if you're interested in learning more about it!
How many servings per pouch?
Gussy's Gut is highly concentrated whole food nutrient.
Every teaspoon of our freeze-dried formula equals 2 oz. of raw vegetables!
Each pouch is 7.5 oz and contains 135 teaspoons per pouch. We recommend 1 serving (teaspoon) per 10-20lbs of your dog's body weight.
The 3oz sample size has 50 teaspoon servings.
This is a whole food supplement so you need not worry about dosing just as you would not worry about how much vegetable to feed your dog. The more you feed, the more nutrients your dog receives.
To be more economical, you may feed Gussy's Gut every other day and 1 teaspoon per 20lbs of bodyweight.
Dr. Billinghurst has said it is more important that Gussy's Gut is fed consistently than it is daily to receive long term benefits.

Why is fermenting important?
Fermented foods for your dog is as instinctual as burying a bone and digging it up a week or month later. For millions of years before commercial pet foods came along, dogs were eating what they caught in the wild, around the homestead, or farm. Part of that was the fermented vegetable contents in the gut and colon of their prey.
Compared to raw vegetables, the raw fermented ingredients in Gussy's Gut is easier to digest, has increased nutrient value that's more bioavailable and it contains over 180 valuable and hard-to-get nutrients otherwise.
Dr. Ian Billinghurst declared our product the missing link in the evolutionary diet for dogs.
